The Water Authority will provide the bore for a fee, or the homeowner may have their contractor provide the boring service.

How are these utilities billed? Most residential customers are billed every other month. Water bills are based on your water usage, measured in cubic feet.

Independently of your own will, your resilience will artificially decrease and you will slowly but surely lose your extraordinary capacity to make life desirable.

Wrap Teflon tape around the treads of the pipe fitting. Screw the fittings into the head cap and secure tightly with an adjustable wrench. Before installing the filter, turn off the water supply. Turn on a faucet to relieve pressure in the line. Determine the best place to install the filter. Cut out a section of the pipe using a tube cutter, depending on the type of pipes you have. Beware of the FHA Public Water Connection Rule and Why

People at campgrounds are some of the friendliest most helpful people you will ever meet. I have seen it time and again when a camper pulls in and they are having problems with something and their next door neighbor, whom they never met, is right there to assist them. I have also observed and assisted several campers who were new to RVing and not really sure how to set their unit up when they arrive at the campground.

While talking to these new Rvers it came up more than once how they wished that they had a checklist to follow to make things easier. I compiled over 25 checklists in an attempt to cover all aspects of RVing. This is an excerpt from the book to assist new campers when they arrive at the campground.

Opening any tap on the boat releases pressure and causes the pump to kick on and run until it rebuilds the pressure to the cut-out setting.

Tweet on Twitter OK, so you have decided that you want to take steps to protect your family from unseen events. You may not know what events to plan for or you could have a much defined idea of the threats you see, but regardless you recognize a need. There are people who come to the Prepper Journal after they read something on another prepping blog or they may have been visiting our site for a year.

The newer visitors are usually just getting starting in this crazy world of Prepping and if they are anything like I was at the beginning, knowing where to start can be pretty daunting. How is this list of supplies you need going to be different from any of the million other lists out there? Your list may be completely different from mine, but I believe the items contained in this list of supplies will be common to most people and more importantly will be required if you are going to be as prepared as possible if the manure hits the hydro-electric powered oscillating air current distribution device.

This list is not all-encompassing either. I am probably not going to have blacksmith supplies or leather working tools although I can see the use in each of those. This list is going to be for the average person to get by if we have a SHTF event, not start a new life in the wild west. For other lists you can check out our Resources page. For something more specific to the Bug Out Bag checklist, click here.

Also this list is going to be missing the specifics of the amounts because each family or individual is different. So without further ado, here we go. Water Berkey Filters are excellent Prepper resources.

How to Properly Connect the RV City Water Inlet

To my utter dismay, they no longer made a pump that would fit this type of well. I could either salvage a manual pump from an old well a complicated assembly with a push rod and leathers or come up with my own design. Thus, the inertia pump was born of necessity. Since inertia pumps contain only one moving part and are constructed from durable materials, they are extremely reliable.

They work in situations where more sophisticated pumps fail and do not lose their prime. Inertia pumps are ideal for supplying campgrounds and cabins, bringing in new wells nothing will cause a powered pump to seize up faster than pumping dirty water , or for emergency water in case there is a power outage.

Turn the water on and check for any leaks.

I only have one shower and one sink. I do not have a washing machine, dishwasher or bathroom sink. My system is set up to be on-grid or off-grid and to be water conscious. Alright, are you ready? Off-grid means that you are NOT connected to city water and that your system is self-contained. On-grid is when you are connected to city water, such as in an RV park.

I have both off-grid and on-grid options in my tiny house, which I recommend for flexibility in parking. Of course, if you will always have a city water connection, having an off-grid system is not necessary. Freshwater is the water you use for drinking, cooking, showering, toilet, washing dishes, etc. When I am off-grid, I fill my tank every 4 days. Read more about it here. The water pump runs on 12V and the water heater requires 12V to spark and to protect itself from freezing.

In the winter, I need to use a heated hose and insulated spigot. The plumbing choice for tiny homes is PEX.

Public Water Connection little known rule that can kill a closing! It can add a large unexpected cost to a purchase! In entry level RVs though, the water heater may only operate in LP gas mode. Water heaters in other motorhomes might operate by a third heating method called Motoraid see more below , which uses waste heat from the motorhome engine to heat the water as you drive. Finally, some high end RVs may have an entirely different system in which the water heater is part of a diesel and electric central heating system, typically either the Aquahot or Hydrohot brand names.

These systems are an entirely different animal and will not be discussed here. A few models are advertised as being 16 gallon heaters, but these are actually 10 gallon heaters that superheat the water and then mix cold water at the outlet, making them roughly equivalent to having a 16 gallon heater at the usual degrees. The RV water heater can be operated in either mode or both can be used to speed up the heating process.

Both are controlled by a thermostat, so the heater only runs as needed. In LP gas mode, a heater control circuit board insures safe operation, so 12v power is needed for it to operate.
